When Ellen Dann left us last summer to go on maternity leave we held on to the hope that she would return, but she has now accepted another post nearer to where her husband Colin works. We held a party to say goodbye and a big thank you to Ellen.

When Susan discovered that one side of her unborn daughter’s heart had failed to develop, meaning that the child was unlikely to survive beyond birth, she and husband Alan asked all their friends to pray. This year’s Arts and Crafts Fair featured an exhibition by the Art Group and a wide range of stalls offering an opportunity to admire, try and buy a wide range of crafts. Over £900 was raised, to be shared between two excellent causes.
The Great Birmingham Run brought crowds of runners and local spectators out on to the streets on an overcast Sunday morning in October. Christ Church members and friends were there to encourage the runners, provide hospitality for spectators and take part in the race.
Over 120 members and friends of Christ Church spent a weekend at an activity centre enjoying the surroundings and a wide range of activities and growing in our relationships with God and with each other.
Having just completed her A levels, Charis is preparing to spend 9 months serving with BMS World Mission as part of a team going to Uganda. She describes what she will be doing and why – and a personal sacrifice that is helping to fund the venture.
In summer 2015 a group of young people and leaders from Christ Church joined thousands of others in worship, learning, enjoyment and challenge. The event helped to build the faith of one member of the group in particular and make her ready to take the next step in her life.
